Ferro Silicon (FeSi)
Application :
Because of the great affinity of oxygen for Silicon FeSi75 is the most popular deoxidizer in steelmaking. It is also used as an alloying element in the manufacture of special Silicon steels for electrical uses and is used to increase overall impact resistance steel.
In the manufacture of cast iron, ferrosilicon is used for inoculation of the iron to accelarate graphitization.
Low Aluminum Ferro silicon is used to prevent hydrogen pin holes.
